SAID Uganda was established in April 2015 and began its formal operations in 2017, driven by a deep reflection on the challenges faced by marginalized groups in our communities. These groups include women, children, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities, and others who endure exploitation, food insecurity, poverty, unemployment, child labor, and poor health conditions. Our vision is clear: “Creating a World of Hope, Fairness, and Inclusion to Attain Holistic Development.”
We at SAID Uganda recognize that poverty remains a significant issue across Uganda, particularly in the Rubirizi district. Here, 62% of those affected by poverty are women and youth, underscoring the urgent need for targeted interventions.
Our approach to addressing these challenges is through empowering communities. We encourage collective action and group participation to fully engage in socio-economic development processes. This strategy is rooted in our core values: Excellence, Accountability, Integrity, Inclusiveness, Volunteerism, and Teamwork. These principles guide all our efforts and drive us toward achieving both our organizational and programmatic objectives.
